Celebration of Guan Yin Enlightenment
OFFERING ITEMS :

Blessing Lantern ($50 each set)
Guanyin or Guan Yin is the most commonly used Chinese translation of the bodhisattva known as Avalokiteśvara. Guanyin is the Buddhist bodhisattva associated with compassion. In the East Asian world, Guanyin is the equivalent term for Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Guanyin also refers to the bodhisattva as adopted by other Eastern religions. The Chinese name Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin, which means “[The One Who] Perceives the Sounds of the World, indicating her compassionate ability to listen for pleas of help so she can come to the aid of the needy. To celebrate the enlightenment of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Guan Yin), Singapore Buddhist Mission will hold the Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s enlightenment light offering service on 23 July 2024 (Tuesday) at 7:30 P.M. Devotees who are interested may come and join us.
